Justin has been home for one day now and I can’t really say it has gone well. He’s struggling with pretty much everything but pain. He’s been sick several times, not from nausea, but from his stomach being full and bowels not emptying quick enough. His energy levels are also down from a couple of days ago, in my opinion, from lack of nutrition. The only difference in his home regiment is the lack of a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that he was receiving throughout his stay in the hospital. I have a call in to the on-call doctor from his surgery team … tick, tick, tick … no response yet.
We know it will take time, time, and more time. And Justin does have a tendency to be impatient. His home health care team will visit tomorrow and likely recommend IV nutrition. I’d be surprised if they don’t.
I’ve been busy getting ready to head back to work tomorrow. I wish I could stay here with him, but his mom and grandmother are here to care for his every need in my absence. Shout out to Gigi and Mamaw!
Thank you for all your prayers and positive energy! And please, keep them coming! Justin even said he believes this surgery went better than expected because of all prayers from all of you. I couldn’t thank you enough.
All my love, Christina

I’m fighting back the tears because I know how frustrating it must be….. hearing Jeff’s tone as he was talking to Justin- trying to encourage him…. I know you hate going back to work- Thank God for Gwen and Ruth for being able to help out…. We continue to pray daily for all of you. Love and kisses!!! Deb and Jeff
